Kari Samantha Wuhrer (born on April 28 in 1967) is an American actress and singer. Wuhrer began her career as a teenager. She is famous for her character of Maggie Beckett in the television show Sliders and also as the Sheriff Samantha Parker in the horror comedy film Eight Legged Freaks.Wuhrer was born in Brookfield, Connecticut, the daughter of Karin (nee Noble), who is a payroll manager, and German American Andrew Wuhrer, who was a police officer as well as a car salesman. She has been blessed with three brothers. As a teenager, she was a singer performing in clubs and hid from her family for the sake of performing. After attending the Wooster school at the age of thirteen She began her studies in acting. After that, she studied at the Tisch School of the Arts located at New York University, Marymount Manhattan College at Columbia University and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, under the famous teacher Uta Hagen, Wuhrer studied.
