Anya Taylor-Joy

Anya Taylor Joy, a half-Spanish and half-English woman was born April 16, 1996 in Miami Florida. Dennis Alan Taylor is a retired banker and Jennifer Marina Joy is a psychology student. The daughter is an Argentinean of Scottish, English and Argentinean descent. Her mother's ancestral lineage is Spanish and English. Taylor-Joy is the youngest of five children, four were born to Taylor's father's previous marriage. The family lived in Buenos Aires until she was six, after which they moved to the Victoria part of London. According to Taylor-Joy, the move was traumatic and she refused to master English with the intention of moving back to Argentina. Hill House had to be her new school after she switched from Northlands. Then she attended Queen's Gate School in London, where she took ballet classes and participated in drama productions. She quit the high school aged 16 to pursue an acting profession. From a young age Taylor-Joy was aware of her desire to become an actress and her dream came true when she was offered a modeling job by Sarah Doukas the founder of Storm Management.
